Position : Cybersecurity Grant Writer Location : Downey, CA, 90242 The Cybersecurity Grant Writer will possess knowledge in cyber security and as a result, would be able to effectively articulate cybersecurity needs and goals through successful grant applications. The Grant writer will be able to secure grants to fund critical cybersecurity projects, technologies, and resources, extend our reach to potential funders and grant opportunities, broadening our network and increasing our capacity to protect sensitive data and assets. In addition, the grant writer will play a crucial role in securing essential funding to strengthen our cyber defense, support growth and innovation, expand reach and impact to enhance our organization's cybersecurity posture. Strong research skills for identifying grant opportunities, understanding the requirements of various funding sources, and gathering data and statistics to support grant applications. Ability to create and manage budgets for grant proposals, including estimating project costs, justifying expenses, and ensuring compliance with grant guidelines. Basic project management skills with the ability to coordinate the grant application process, gather necessary documents, and work with relevant stakeholders. Knowledge and understanding of ethical considerations and legal requirements associated with cybersecurity projects, including privacy, data protection, and compliance with relevant regulations. Ability to enhance the success rate of grant applications by analyzing feedback and refining grant-writing strategies based on past experiences. knowledge of cybersecurity trends, grant-writing best practices, and an organization's cybersecurity needs to enhance the quality of grant applications. Will possess knowledge and experience collaborating with various working groups, interpersonal skills, effective written and oral skills, and strong organization and time management skills. Experience Required Miscellaneous/ Niche/ Other Experience Preferred 1. 3 years effectively researching and submitting grant applications including crafting persuasive grant applications that clearly and compellingly communicate cybersecurity needs, objectives, and strategies to secure funding. 2. 3 years diversifying funding portfolios by identifying and applying for grants from a wide array of government agencies, private foundations, and corporate partners. 3. 3 years ensuring all grant proposals and applications adhere to relevant compliance requirements and cybersecurity industry standards. 4. 3 years establishing relationships with potential funders, collaborating with stakeholders and cybersecurity experts to strengthen grant applications. 5. 3 of successful grant applications in the past 5 years. Education Required Miscellaneous/ Niche/ Other Education Preferred Education: A bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as cybersecurity, computer science, information technology, or communications is typically required. A master's degree or certification in grant writing or cybersecurity can be an added advantage.
