Job Summary: As a Technical Writing Specialist, you'll collaborate in a team to create and validate technical documentation supporting Navy customers and personnel. With a focus on defense and national security, your documentation will play a key role in providing accurate information to decision-makers, ensuring they are equipped with clear and reliable materials regarding systems and tools.

Required Qualifications:
    • 2+ years of experience in generating technical documentation for a technical or informed audience.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and PDF formats.
    • Navy Experience. DOD Experience
    • Experience with documentation revision and version control practices.
    • Ability to interpret and document complex software and hardware products, including certification processes.
    • Familiarity with digital collaboration tools, such as Teams and SharePoint; experience with document automation platforms like PandaDoc is a plus.
    • Basic development knowledge, with the ability to apply technical best practices to documentation systems.
    • A strong commitment to creating high-quality documentation and enhancing user experience.
    • Excellent writing and communication skills, adaptable to different audiences.
Key Responsibilities:
    • Create, review, and refine user-focused documentation of the highest quality.
    • Contribute to the development of technical writing tools, including style guides, documentation lifecycle management, and review processes.
    • Collaborate with Engineering to deliver accurate, compliant documentation that enhances the user experience.
    • Apply strong knowledge of English language structure, composition, and grammar.
    • Tailor communication to target audiences, utilizing effective listening and interviewing skills.
    • Follow and implement DoD MIL standards and style guides in all technical documentation.
    • Demonstrate a strong aptitude for learning and managing increasing responsibilities and complexity.
    • Thrive in a collaborative, team-oriented environment, focused on shared success.
    • Operate autonomously, managing multiple tasks with occasional tight deadlines.


$27 - $35 an hour
