Provide process automation design and development to site in support of top line growth, process optimization and troubleshooting, and capital projects. Apply engineering principles and process knowledge to support the development, implementation, commissioning and validation of the successful operation of applications and solutions.

Specific Skills

Successful candidate will be responsible for

Identifying new process control improvement opportunities at various site manufacturing processes Support day to day operations with process control support on the DCS and Delta V systems. Be able to troubleshoot issues that affect manufacturing. Be available for calls on off hours if problems arise. Train new employees on use of tools and automation. Experience with Emerson Delta V Programing and OPC Communications. Knowledgeable on PLC Programming, HMI configuration, Data Historian (Aspen IP21 or OSI PI) and MODBUS TCP Communications. Understanding the manufacturing process and data analysis to troubleshoot existing (or develop new) automation and process control applications, implementing and commissioning these applications. The successful candidate will also become expert in applying process modeling and process automation simulation to assist manufacturing engineers and projects to solve complex engineering problems. The process automation simulation work will include designing and deploying software for testing of process automation logic versus a realistic process model and for providing operator training for new processes, large process control system migrations, and existing processes where operator training provides a significant advantage.

Minimum requirements:

Bachelor of Engineering Degree is required 3 years of experience in design, development, and implementation of process automation solutions. Demonstrated knowledge of chemical process requirements and experience with standard process control methods, Experience in the writing of functional requirement documents for process automation projects Skills in programming or configuration of DCS and Delta V systems Must be able to meet Dupont’s Manufacturing safety requirements. Use of PPE – personal protective equipment, adherence of Dupont safety standards and processes Interpersonal Working Skills

Candidate is expected to have:

Demonstrated communication skills with ability to develop and articulate the merit of proposals for technical improvement programs which provides support of process automation across the entire manufacturing portfolio. Demonstrated interpersonal skills with ability to work effectively with people (Technicians, Engineers, Management) at all levels of the organization (3) Self-starter, able to work with minimal supervision (4) Demonstrated ability to take initiative and be creative and innovative (5) Ability to work well with large teams either as a contributor or as a team leader (6) Ability to learn quickly and willing to expand knowledge and develop skills in related fields of the competency (7) Ability to set priorities/organize work.
