Position Summary:

Provides supervision of the daily operation of department requiring registered nursing expertise, assuring goals and objectives are obtained through the planning, implementing, and directing of programs, procedures, systems and support personnel. Utilizes a systematic approach to nursing practice incorporating assessment, planning, nursing diagnosis, implementation, and evaluation in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act, recognized professional standards and Park Nicollet policy.

Park Nicollet - Golden Valley is a medium sized Primary Care clinic serving a diverse population in the Golden Valley area and surrounding communities. We are seeking a motivated and experienced Registered Nurse to lead our clinical support and triage teams and directly contribute to the ongoing success of our clinic.

Our space was renovated in 2019 and offers great amenities including; employee parking and entry, a large break room with an ice machine, filtered water, and a Keurig, a staff relaxation room equipped with a massage chair, and beautiful views overlooking the Brookview Golf Course A snack bar and exercise room with weights and Pelotons is available within our building. It truly is a wonderful environment to work in.

JOB EXPECTATIONS:

1. Directs and supervises the daily operation of the designated departments, ensuring appropriate staffing coverage is maintained.

2. Assists in the development and implementation of new services, policies, protocols, procedures, systems and materials for Primary Care. Coordinates staff training, identifies and implements strategies for a successful roll out and ongoing improvement.

3. Working Supervisor (when applicable) - Performs direct patient care activities working on the floor at designated site. Functions in the Clinic RN and RN Triage role, in person and/or by telephone, managing patient walk-ins, incoming and return calls.

4. Maintains a clear line of communication with site leaders regarding status of teams, workflows, potential issues and improvement opportunities.

5. Interviews, hires, mentors, evaluates, and disciplines support personnel for designated department.

6. Communicates downstream organizational and departmental nursing related content.

7. Maintains a focus on employee wellness, engagement, and teamwork.

8. Maintains the designated clinic sites emergency response including participating in fire drills, severe weather drills, and attending Code Blue/Emergency Response events when onsite. Ensuring staff is prepared for potential emergency situations.

9. Assists in resolution of patient concerns facilitating a positive outcome. Serves as a resource to staff and community, providing continuing education. Participates in quality improvement, department projects, skills fair, and other educational opportunities that will improve patient care and outcomes.

10. Perform other duties as assigned

Work Schedule:

M-F weekdays

Required Qualifications:
  • Graduate from a course of study in nursing resulting in an associate degree, diploma or baccalaureate degree and at least one year related supervisory or three years related non-supervisory experience required.
  • Current state Registered Nursing License required and BLS provider status in accordance with American Heart Association (AHA) guidelines.

Preferred Qualifications:

Prior leadership experience preferred.
