SUMMARY

The Civil, Utilities & Site Work Chief Estimator will work on both private and public projects throughout southeastern Texas. This position is full-time, located in our Houston office. We are seeking someone who is career-minded, with high standards of quality, and dedicated to the continued growth of our Texas operations. The ideal person will be experienced in estimating civil construction projects, detail-oriented, organized, and able to adapt to ever-changing technologies in construction. This position offers the potential for bonuses and growth based on performance and quality of work product.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Estimating utility, infrastructure, and site work projects (primarily utilities)

Prepare and manage comprehensive and competitive project proposals and bids, ensuring accuracy and completeness.

Collaborate with project managers and engineers to understand project objectives and constraints.

Coordinate with suppliers and subcontractors to gather pricing information and negotiate favorable terms

Provide support during the pre-construction and post-construction phases, as required.

Communicate and work closely with clients to ensure a high degree of satisfaction.

Create budgets and turnover packages, and perform all pre-construction activities

Other tasks as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

2 years experience in HCSS (heavy bid), BlueBeam and Agtec – Earthwork or something similar is required.

Proficiency with the Microsoft group of software: excel, word, outlook, share-point, etc. is a necessity.

5+ years’ experience with TXDOT experience needed.

Background in heavy, site-work, utilities, pipelines, infrastructure, heavy construction is desired.

Excellent oral and written communication skills

Highly organized, with strong time-management skills

A construction-related college degree would be a plus for applicants, but not required.

Travel for this position would be limited with very little overnight travel, mostly for meeting, pre-bids, etc
