Manager, Cafe

Job Summary:

Provides oversight and management of the foodservice entrepreneurial training program.

Markets the Kawi Caf. Develops and manages the Kawi Caf Business Operation. Analyzes entrepreneurial needs. Prepares monthly profit & loss statements. Ensures excellent guest service standards are administered with complete guest satisfaction. Oversees scheduling, training, selection, coaching/counseling, inventory, and labor cost analysis. Assumes operating expense cost and labor cost fiscal responsibility. Ensures excellent food quality is served. Upholds cleanliness standards for all operations. Upholds safe and sanitary work environment for all employees as well as our guests. Responsible for proper cash register operations and controls. Provides leadership for team building and outstanding training for all employees. Provides hands-on-training to prospective entrepreneurs. Other duties may be assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Directly supervises two (2) to six (6) employees in the Cafe'. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENT

High school diploma or general education degree (GED).

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

An additional four (4) years of related experience is required.

COMPUTER SKILLS

An individual should have knowledge of Internet software; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Must possess a valid driver's license with a driving history verified through a motor vehicle report that meets requirements for Cherokee Nation underwriting rating. Must possess a valid Food Handlers card or be able to obtain within 14 days of employment.

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS

Employee must not be and will not be under sanction by the United States Department of Health and Human Services Office of the Inspector General (OIG) or by the General Services Administration (GSA) or listed on the OIGs Cumulative Sanction Report, or the GSAs List of Excluded Providers; or listed on the OIGs List of Excluded Individuals/Entities (LEIE).

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to sit. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
