Order Entry Clerk

Job Description
The primary responsibility of this role is to provide outstanding customer service, primarily through email orders. The goal is to assist in providing the best possible buying experience, product delivery, and after-sale service while maximizing the efficiency of the customer order process.
Responsibilities
- Complete assigned tasks to the best of your ability within the specified time.
- Use effective time management techniques to accomplish assigned tasks.
- Ask questions and request clarification if details seem unclear.
- Enter customer orders into and interpret information from the company's computerized order processing system accurately and efficiently.
- Seek new information by reading trade publications and other sources.
- Possess an in-depth awareness of different branch operations and how they relate to one another.
- Cooperate seamlessly with showroom, warehouse, and slab sales personnel.
- Ensure that all commitments made to customers and coworkers are reasonable and can be met.
- Demonstrate a willingness and ability to work within a team environment.
- Get along well with other team members on a day-to-day basis and participate in special events such as inventory and/or parking lot sales.
- Maintain knowledge of competitors and their products.
- Demonstrate proficiency in using company computer applications.
- Keep current on new products, discontinued products, products with supply problems, and out-of-stock products.
- Introduce customers to similar products when appropriate, minimizing inconvenience.
- Engage in problem-solving by actively listening to clients and coworkers.
- Use sound problem-solving techniques to arrive at a solution.
- Balance ongoing projects with the more immediate demands of the order desk.
- Customer service oriented
- Proficiency with computer skills and order entry
- Experience with Microsoft Office
- Clerical skills
- Email customer service
- Good with numbers
- Computer savvy (minimum 2+ years of order entry/email customer service on computer)
- Technical proficiency with data entry
- Experience with Profit21 system (training will be provided)
- Ability to work well under pressure and balance a lot of work
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, area, and apply concepts of basic algebra
- Time management and ability to prioritize multiple tasks
- Willingness to work in a collaborative environment
- Freight experience
- Bilingual in Spanish
- Experience as a server or upscale retail floor customer service
- Kindness and customer-first mentality
- Prior experience in the tile or interior design industry
- Ability to enter data using a computer keyboard and mouse within a Microsoft Windows environment
- Positive attitude and reliability
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, interpret technical instructions, and deal with abstract and concrete variables
The working hours are from 7:25 AM to 5:00 PM with a 30-minute lunch break and two 10-minute breaks. The role requires working onsite at a desk behind the showroom with up to 5 other order desk clerks. You may be required to work 1-2 Saturdays per month, with the option of having two days off per week depending on your schedule. The office environment is super nice and clean, with a really nice breakroom offering free coffee and occasional catered lunches. There are also Christmas parties and employee appreciation celebrations that include everyone, along with employee recognitions.

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $20.00
