ABOUT THE ROLE
We are on the lookout for a Senior Network Engineer with a focus on InfiniBand technology and network architecture, particularly within AI clusters. This role is pivotal in developing, deploying, and managing high-performance network infrastructures that are not only scalable and reliable but also secure. These infrastructures are designed to support the demanding workloads of advanced AI and high-performance computing (HPC) applications.
Some of the key responsibilities you should expect are the following:
Network Architecture Design: Craft network architectures that meet the specific requirements of AI clusters, emphasizing scalability, reliability, and security.
Network Component Deployment and Optimization: Take the lead in deploying and fine-tuning network components. This includes leveraging tools such as Mellanox NEO and OpenSM for InfiniBand switches, routers, firewalls, and load balancers, ensuring the network is optimized for AI workloads.
Network Performance Monitoring and Optimization: Utilize tools like PerfMon and Mellanox Fabric Inspector to monitor and enhance network performance. This involves addressing any bottlenecks and minimizing latency to guarantee consistent high throughput and low latency, crucial for supporting AI applications.
Security Measures Implementation: Develop and implement robust security measures, including but not limited to intrusion detection systems, access control mechanisms, and encryption, to safeguard the network against cyber threats.
Collaboration and Documentation: Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the network infrastructure aligns with overall project objectives. Maintain comprehensive documentation of network configurations and protocols to support ongoing operations and future planning.
Troubleshooting and Support: Provide expert-level troubleshooting and support for network-related issues, with a focus on connectivity, performance, and stability within AI and HPC environments.
Capacity Planning: Engage in proactive capacity planning to anticipate and prepare for future network demands, ensuring the infrastructure can scale to meet the evolving needs of AI and HPC workloads.
And other duties as assigned.
ABOUT YOU
InfiniBand Specialization: Demonstrated expertise in network architecture design, with a specific focus on InfiniBand technology for high-performance computing environments.
AI and HPC Network Management: Proven track record in deploying and managing network components within large-scale AI or HPC settings, showcasing an ability to ensure optimal performance and security.
Performance Tuning and Security: Advanced skills in performance tuning, security implementation, and capacity planning for complex network infrastructures.
Collaboration and Problem-Solving: Exceptional problem-solving abilities, along with strong collaboration and documentation skills.
Educational Background: Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is required. An advanced degree or relevant certifications (e.g., CCNP, CCIE) is preferred.
