Position Summary:

Grayscale is currently looking for an experienced IT Director to join our dynamic team. As our first IT Director, you will work with our Security Team and Managed Service Provider on the IT infrastructure of Grayscale. In this role, you will collaborate closely with various internal stakeholders across Finance, Operations, Marketing, Security, and Compliance. This collaborative environment will provide you with the opportunity to work alongside professionals from diverse backgrounds and gain insights into various aspects of the business.

Our tech stack is established and designed to leverage cutting-edge technologies and tools but requires maturity. We utilize several cloud platforms, and looking to establish a zero trust architecture long term. Our infrastructure is managed through multiple collaborative teams and services providers. In 2024 we are expanding our services in security and require an experienced IT Director to take over maintaining the help desk and IT infrastructure operations. We are a small team have a need for attention to detail and experience with SEC/FINRA compliance expectations of data, infrastructure, and policy management.

Responsibilities :

Identify technological needs and make recommendations to business decision-makers.

Manage the relationship with our IT helpdesk service provider and support technicians.

Maintain company hardware and software programs.

Update technological equipment in the company.

Implement company-wide technology updates and prepare documentation and training materials for new employees.

Participate in the development, software, and security deployments.

Identify opportunities for process improvements, automation, and optimization of existing systems and applications.

Advocate for consistent, scalable, and reusable processes and lifecycle management principles.

Contribute to the development and maintenance of Grayscale’s Office 365 environment ensuring its scalability, performance, and operational effectiveness.

Clearly and effectively communicate delays, and remediation across the organization.

Develop and maintain software systems that adhere to compliance requirements and support regulatory obligations.

Effectively collaborate with our external integration partners to ensure high quality results.

Learn new technologies quickly and can comfortably and effectively discuss the tradeoffs and benefits of various approaches with other teams and stakeholders.

Qualifications :

Minimum of 5-7 years of IT Infrastructure experience

Familiarity with modern cloud environments (e.g., Microsoft, Google, AWS, Cloudflare, etc.)

Highly organized and self-motivated, with an ability to work both independently and on a fast-paced team

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience

Ability to work in an agile environment

Excellent written and verbal communication

Problem-solving and critical-thinking skills

Up-to-date knowledge of latest IT developments

Ability to explain highly technical concepts in simple terms

Good research and analysis skills

Nice to have:

Experience working in a regulated industry and/or Financial Services

Interest in digital assets/distributed networks and how they will reshape global finance

Automation with Power Automate, Okta Workflow, AWS Lambda, etc.

Experience with Identity and Access Management platforms like Okta, Auth0

Experience with Frameworks like CIS, ISO, etc.
