DescriptionSummary:The Production Manager is responsible for overseeing and controlling RTP production processes for specified areas. This position must work and promote servicing the customer, operational excellence, product consistency with cost and asset optimization, and safe operations. This position directly supervises Production Leads and Assistant Leads, and is accountable for the supervision, direction, training, and evaluation of all members of their production team.*Not eligible for work sponsorshipWork Schedule: 1st Shift Responsibilities Supervises assigned (shift/department) plant employees to include coaching and mentoring, performance management and discipline, hiring and terminating, and training. Determines production requirements and ensures processes are efficient and cost controlled. This includes scheduling of production runs and staffing assignments. Aids plant safety and environmental performance by conducting meetings, communicating expectations, along with reporting and investigating incidents. Monitors run rates, changeovers, and line cleans. Pinpoints and troubleshoots process issues and determines appropriate course of action to resolve these issues. Develops/revises operation procedures including testing and running new products and or customer orders. Participates in on-site customer audits, ISO audits, customer trials, and complaint investigations. Ensures quality expectations of customers is met. Coordinate shift maintenance activities and audit equipment checklists. Ensure work orders are entered for scheduling. Schedule line downtime for proactive maintenance Performs other duties as assigned.RequirementsSkills and Abilities Must have strong technical knowledge of mono layer sheet extrusion, be mechanically inclined, and have previous experience in a manufacturing environment. Must be able to troubleshoot equipment and different resin formulations Excellent interpersonal and written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and have ability to learn and work in Cimpro system. Adept at learning new software; must be able to work in Cimpro system and company programs for HR/Employee, Safety, and Asset management Must be committed to safety of the plant and employees.Must have excellent team building skills and ability to create accountability while leading by example.Must have effective decision-making and problem-solving abilities.Must have strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.Must be willing and able to work in a fast-paced environment and multi-task.Attendance is an essential function of the job.Must be able to read, write, and speak English.Education and Experience High school diploma or equivalent; 2-year technical degree preferred. Must have 5+ years of previous Management leadership experience with a strong background in sheet production including co-extrusion and mono layer production. Must be able to effectively lead multi shift teams of individuals and problem solve.Physical Requirements and Working ConditionsContacts involve giving or exchanging information of a limited controversial nature. Regularly Communicates via phone, email, in person. Required to stand and walk for prolonged periods of time on the production floor as well as sit and look at a computer screen. Close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Exposed to moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particles.Frequently Required to use safety equipment as dictated by the work area. Proper personal safety equipment is to be used while performing this job as pointed out by plant safety equipment procedures. Exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, dust, fumes, airborne particles, chemical dust, and risk of electric shock and non-hazardous chemical agents. Walk and use stairs to move throughout the building. OccasionallyLift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
