Job Title: Computed Tomography Technologist Profession: Technologist Specialty: Computed Tomography (CT) Duration: Full-Time Shift: Evening Hours per Shift: 10 Experience: Minimum years of experience preferred License: Current permit issued by the Department of Public Health Certifications: ARRT certification as a Radiographer Must-Have: - Fluent in English - Excellent communication skills - Cooperative, courteous, and dependable work performance - High integrity and confidentiality Description: The CT Technologist is responsible for working within the established guidelines of Imaging Services as assigned. The CT Technologist is expected to support the organization's mission and vision. As a professional, the CT Technologist is responsible for adhering to detail in the technical performance of radiology procedures. The CT Technologist will solve practical and analytical problems and implement constructive change. Responsibilities include: Performs careful and accurate work in any technical area as assigned. Performs procedural exams within specified turnaround time and assures procedural exam guidelines are strictly adhered to. Complies with exam procedure technical factors and protocols in consultation with the radiologist. Supports and performs CT exams within established guidelines. Administers contrast agents according to procedure guidelines and states correct flow rates utilizing power injector. Documents all necessary information in the performance of technical procedures, including adequate history and quality control. Demonstrates attention to detail in following protocol for patient identification and exam labeling. Documents pregnancy appropriately for females of childbearing age. Uses AIDET (Acknowledge, Introduce, Duration, Explanation, and Thank You) with every patient interaction to enhance patient experiences. Performs patient transfers with approved mobility equipment when appropriate. Assists in maintaining a high-quality and well-organized radiologic science program. Performs other duties as assigned. Maintains compliance and is responsible for executing and monitoring technical practices to meet necessary standards and requirements. Understands and adheres to all safety practices to minimize risks associated with ionizing radiation. Wears an issued radiation badge for monitoring occupational exposure to ionizing radiation. Possesses the ability to make good independent decisions based on knowledge of departmental functions, policies, and procedures. Promotes the development, preparation, implementation, and attainment of departmental goals and policies. Maintains an adequate level of productivity. Communicates with managers when problems or unusual circumstances arise and documents as necessary. Prioritizes work appropriately and assists others as time allows. Communicates effectively with healthcare professionals and customers to provide accurate information and reduce issues. Understands requirements for student supervision and supports the educational process. Maintains cleanliness of equipment and workspace and reports equipment malfunctions in a timely manner. Qualifications include: Clinical experience as a Radiologic Technologist preferred. Appropriate training for the assigned modality is required.
