DetailsDixie Chopper(a member of Alamo Group Inc.) is currently accepting applications to fill the position ofTerritory Sales Manager for the territory to include Louisville, KY, OH, and Southern IN.The Territory Sales Manageris a vital position and will support and contribute to the company goals of profitability, inventory turns, ROI and cost control. Under moderate direction, solicits orders for company products from agricultural customers at customer's place of business utilizing knowledge of products sold. Compiles lists of prospective customers for use as sales leads, travels throughout assigned territory to call on regular and prospective dealers, or talks with customers on sales floor, or by phone. Displays or demonstrates product and emphasizes salable features. Quotes prices and credit terms, prepares sales contracts, prepares reports of business transactions and keeps expense accounts. Provides sales coverage while providing best possible market penetration for all products in accordance with the company's policies and procedures.ALAMO GROUP CORE COMPETENCIES include: Leading Change / Change Management: Ability to drive improvement of team, division, and corporate goals and objectives through people. Carries out marketing programs as directed by the company. Maintains positive relationship with existing dealer accounts. Cultivates a healthy dealer organization through acquisition of new accounts and elimination of non-productive accounts. Serves as link in company/dealer communication process. Conducts dealer education and/or training classes. Actively participates in the development of sales territory planning and forecasts. Attends trade shows, sales meetings and/or conventions as designated by company. Provides customers with estimated shipping dates and helps coordinate deliveries. Authorizes "returns" goods in accordance with company policy. Assists in collecting and investigating credit worthiness of delinquent accounts. Audits company inventory that has been consigned or is unpaid and secured. Controls paid and unpaid inventory levels within the territory and repossess and relocates unpaid or returned inventory to preserve the company's financial interest. Maintains up-to-date customer and territory records in accordance with national/regional/district manager's instructions. Prepares and submits call and expense reports as required and in a timely manner. Submits special reports regarding territory operation, acceptance or rejection of products and competitive conditions possibly beneficial to other sales personnel and/or company operations. Stays abreast of competitor products and marketing practices. Keeps management informed of any / all developments.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSA's): Excellent communication skills required, both verbal and written. Proficient with MS Excel, MS Word and Outlook Able to prioritize work schedule, work under pressure and meet goals/objectives. Must be self-disciplined. Ability to achieve task under minimal supervision. Excellent driving record/skills. Insurable driving record. Must reside in assigned territory. Education and Experience: High school diploma or GED certificate required. Bachelor's degree in marketing/sales highly preferred. Previous field/territory sales experience preferred. Background in agriculture or industrial equipment sales preferred.Working Conditions: Ability to sit for extended periods of time; especially for driving. Occasional lifting of 30 - 50 lbs. Extensive travel required; minimum of 2 nights out per week required.
