Requirements
Essential Duties Responsibilities
- Negotiate and purchase materials, supplies, and services at the most favorable terms to the company to include raw material purchasing, intra group purchasing, and other outside service purchasing to support company short and long-term production needs in line with its operating and financial objectives.
- Manage purchase orders for mechanical, electrical, and electronic commodities as well as items fabricated per engineering specifications in compliance with company policies and regulations.
- Manage assigned commodities by communicating MRP changes and forecasts to minimize excess inventory to achieve optimum inventory levels.
- Manage and analyze supplier OTD and keep in constant communication with suppliers to help improve delivery and avoid production delays.
- Communicate with suppliers on the status of open orders as well as quality and delivery issues.
- Manage invoice reconciliations, RFQ management, system database review and regular inventory reporting.
- Manage commodities at established re-order point levels meeting forecast for production scale-up and revenue goals.
- Monitor non-consignment MRO min/max stockroom inventories via MRP and initiate orders within established guidelines.
- Interview, select, and develop new and current suppliers according to each OEM supplier guidelines.
- Develop and implement purchasing and contract management instructions, policies, and procedures for ISO.
- Audit supplier procedures and documentation with quality management using ISO requirements as a baseline.
- Maintain vendor/supplier quality documents to support ISO standards and ensure up-to-date vendor files for analysis.
- Coordinate RFP's process, soliciting formal product cost and availability to satisfy customer requirements.
- Expedite timely responses for quotation acknowledgements and responsiveness to RFQ commercial and technical clarifications.
- Coordinates with management and staff across departments to forecast the needs of the business and to make purchase decisions based on demand.
- Ensure all required documentation is received on time from suppliers.
- Possess Initiative, be on top of issues.
- Properly analyze situations and carry out assignments to completion.
- Work alongside the team to create department successes.
- AA degree required.
- Must have a minimum of 3 years work-related procurement experience in a manufacturing environment.
- CPIM certification a plus.
- Knowledge and experience in ERP/MRP systems as a standard operational process, preferred in Aerospace manufacturing, but not required.
- Experience in manufacturing environment or in support of Government contracts including FAR//DFAR/DPAS/ITAR compliance is preferred.
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, v-lookup)
- Problem-solver.
- Excellent communication skills, and ability to work as part of a team in a multi-site setting and international environment.
- Technical proficiency with typical office software applications.
- Ability to manage many tasks simultaneously including expediting materials to support production needs.
- Ability to safely, and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state, and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
- Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state, and local standards.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 10-15 lbs.
- Must be able to talk, listen and speak clearly on telephone.
