Bachelor's degree and five years of fundraising experience, including three years of major gift experience or five years of combined personal sales/fundraising related experience. Advanced degree and experience in a Medical Center preferred. LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION, and/or REGISTRATION:

Valid North Carolina driver's license. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Identifies, cultivates, and solicits individuals for major gifts ($100,000 and above). Manages a portfolio of approximately 120 major gift prospects with the capacity to support the mission of the Medical Center with substantial gifts. Conducts 125-150 visits annually. Stewards non-endowed major gifts. Identifies and qualifies prospects following established procedures to create, implement, document and update solicitation strategies. Works closely with institutional leadership and volunteers appropriate to the level of cultivation and solicitation. Establishes and maintains long-term relationships between donors and the Medical Center to effectively move donors along the continuum of giving. Reflects a passion for Children's Health. Communicates the mission, vision, values and priorities within the internal and external community. Translates scientific information into lay language as needed. Maintains an active knowledge of key planned giving vehicles and partner with planned giving officers as needed to support this component of gift opportunities. Develops major gift and selects principal gift proposals in collaboration with appropriate faculty/staff and proposal recipients. Tracks progress of proposal and strategizes follow-up and intermediate moves between submission and decision. Creates and maintains a culture of philanthropy with faculty. Develops and maintains working relationships to encourage faculty and staff to identify potential prospects and provide them with feedback as appropriate. Promotes grateful patient referrals from faculty successfully. Demonstrates attentiveness to required standards for response to referrals (Rapid Response techniques), qualification of prospects, and development of cultivation plans for patients. Proactively utilizes wealth screening to provide patient names for faculty review. Collaborates with Corporate and Foundation Relations (CFR) to identify and cultivate individuals associated with corporations and foundations. Ensures awareness and engagement of the CFR team in all corporate or foundation solicitations. Assists with the development and implementation of procedures relating to Brenner Children's Advisory Group procedures, structure, and fundraising responsibilities. Ensures consistency and coordination with the Board of Visitors and other internal Advisory Group procedures and structure. Ensures performance complies with all pertinent policies and procedures governing HIPAA and ethical fundraising standards. Maintains a high level of understanding and proficiency in all aspects of applicable laws, policies, procedures and standards governing the operation of a fundraising function. Provides leadership to special projects and performs other duties as assigned, at the direction of the Department's Senior Leadership Team. SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:
