My Client is in search of motivated and enthusiastic candidates to join its transformative journey in bringing next-generation lithium-ion battery manufacturing technologies to the market.Job DescriptionMy Client is currently in need of an experienced Senior Buyer/Purchasing Lead to establish and manage the companys procurement activities. In this role, you will oversee the purchase and negotiation of materials, equipment, and supplies from various entities. Key responsibilities include developing and implementing purchasing strategies, ensuring compliance with regulations, and monitoring supplier performance. This position is crucial for driving competitive supply costs, maintaining quality, and ensuring timely delivery. The ideal candidate should be a self-starter with excellent communication, negotiation, and analytical skills, along with a strong understanding of supply chain management.ResponsibilitiesCreate, place, and manage purchase orders.Issue requests for quotes/proposals (RFP/RFQ) with domestic and international suppliers on behalf of My Client.Negotiate and oversee long-term pricing agreements for critical commodities.Maintain inventory levels in line with targeted goals.Cultivate and maintain vendor relationships, monitoring supplier performance and contractual compliance.Implement sound purchasing principles, including terms and conditions and purchasing notes.Assist in the selection and implementation of an ERP/MRP system.Ensure accuracy of ERP/MRP part master databases, including lead times, pricing, supplier information, and purchase order data.Manage safety stock items in the ERP/MRP system.Communicate project updates and order statuses with other departments.Handle over-shipments, delivery shortages, delivery dates, and quality issues with vendors.Process non-conforming material and RMA requests with vendors.Kit, package, and ship materials using FedEx, DHL, and trucking services as needed.Evaluate and report on key vendor performance, driving continuous improvement.Manage both in-house and offsite inventories held by suppliers.Vet current supplier base, research potential suppliers, and develop second sources as needed.Ensure adherence to the organizations purchasing policies and procedures.Ability to travel domestically and internationally as required.Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.Required Qualifications5-10 years of experience as a Senior Buyer.Bachelors degree in supply chain management, logistics, or a technical field preferred.CPM, CPIM certification is a plus.Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical/engineering drawings and schematics, including GD&T.Experience in a manufacturing environment with expertise in electro-mechanical products, sheet metal, castings, weldments, and wire harnesses.Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems; experience in selecting and implementing such systems is a plus.Global supply chain experience.Proven negotiation skills and a track record of successful cost reductions.Ability to lead and work independently.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Ability to perform well under pressure.High proficiency in Microsoft Office.Compensation and Benefits:Competitive salary.Health, dental, vision, and life insurance.401k plan.Employee stock options.Does this sound like a good opportunity?
