Job Description

Job Overview: As a Performance Engineer at Zego, you will be responsible for ensuring that all products meet our rigorous performance standards. This includes conducting various types of load testing, such as capacity, endurance, and spike testing, to simulate and measure how our systems perform under stress. You will leverage tools like JMeter and New Relic to analyze performance metrics and identify potential bottlenecks or performance issues. Key Responsibilities:

Design, develop, and execute performance tests using JMeter Analyze test results and coordinate with development teams for performance improvements using tools like New Relic. Ensure performance test results are documented and communicated to stakeholders. Implement and maintain performance testing frameworks and make recommendations for enhancing their robustness. Collaborate with software development and architecture teams to understand system design and architecture. Identify key performance metrics and set up continuous monitoring systems to detect performance regression. Manage performance test environments, ensuring they are representative of production systems. Conduct advanced types of load testing including but not limited to capacity, endurance, and spike tests. Develop automated performance testing strategies and scripts for ensuring product scalability and stability. Provide expertise in the mitigation of performance bottlenecks. Mentor junior team members and provide guidance on best practices in performance engineering. Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to improve performance. Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends in performance testing and performance engineering. Qualifications:

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. Proven experience with performance testing and monitoring tools such as JMeter and New Relic. Strong understanding of various load testing types (capacity, endurance, spike, etc.). Expertise in analyzing performance metrics and identifying optimization opportunities. Experience with CI/CD processes and familiarity with version control systems like Git. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under tight deadlines. Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and switch between tasks quickly. Proficient in scripting languages relevant to test automation (e.g., Python, Bash). Prior experience in mentoring team members and leading testing initiatives. Additional Skills (Preferred, but not not required):

Certification in performance testing tools or methodologies. Experience in using cloud-based platforms for scalable performance testing. Knowledge of containerization and orchestration technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
