Position Summary:

Provides in-depth industry and market analysis for the Sales and Marketing department.

This function includes regular competitive analysis, pricing analysis/recommendations, market research, sales and forecasting administration and program development and support.

Essential Functions:

Regular review of direct and indirect customer and part number sales data and analysis of trends in order to generate sales leads for profitable growth.

Provide pricing analysis and recommendations for both aftermarket and private brand opportunities (discount needed to win, price needed to win, comparisons to other quotes and/or similarly situated customers).

Responsible for setting annual sales forecasting and planning agenda and provide the sales group the format and instructions to be followed.

Analyze and consolidate forecast inputs from intercompany business units as well as aftermarket and OE sales teams.

Manage all aspects of sales budget/forecast process including interdepartmental communications with finance, production planning, etc.

Responsible for various management reports on monthly, quarterly, as needed basis to explain sales performance using key indicators to determine opportunities and threats.

Support market research projects.

Support the development and administration of special programs and promotions.

Responsible for reviewing information comparing cost information vs. pricing to determine profit percentage available for special programs and promotions.

Administer regular sales reporting via business intelligence and other tools.

Operates general office equipment including a personal computer.

Is responsible for quality and safety of own work and compliance of all company procedures and policies.

Quotes new business opportunities. Develops and defines appropriate price guidelines and bid strategy for Division.

Develops effective segmentation strategy and variance based analysis to define floor and ceiling price points. Establishes and manages adherence to guidelines and delegation of pricing authority.

Defines and manages approval process through regular reviews of price variance charts and metrics.

Leads effective price reviews on large opportunities with cross-functional divisional staff teams. Assists in new business close strategy.

Qualifications:

Required: Bachelor’s degree in business administration, marketing, accounting, economics, or related field.

Two years’ experience preferred.

Knowledgeable in the operation of personal computers and software including Microsoft Office and Windows. Excellent verbal and written communications skills.

Candidate should be analytically minded and able to solve problems with minimal guidance.
