Custodial Maintenance Technician

to assist with facilities in our Educare location. The purposes of this position are to maintain safe operating conditions, maintain a preventative maintenance program, and resolve immediate operational and/or safety concerns. Educare Seattle provides high-quality multicultural early learning and family support services so that children will be ready to succeed in school and life.

This job reports to Facilities Administrator or HHS Site Manager.

Essential Functions Assists with facilities issues for the purpose of ensuring the appropriate storage and safeguarding of program equipment, furniture and materials. Attends meetings, workshops, in-service training, etc. for the purpose of maintaining professional development and receiving and/or conveying information required to perform functions. Cleans facilities and grounds (and may provide oversite to others, including students) for the purpose of maintaining a safe and clean environment. Cleans assigned vehicles, both interior and exterior, for the purpose of ensuring safety, appearance and sanitation of vehicle. Coordinates with vendors and PSESD owned or leased facilities for the purpose of ensuring that facilities are safe, comfortable, and maintained. Embodies the principles and practices that form our culture and commitment to becoming an Antiracist Multicultural Organization for the purpose of meeting the Agency’s End: Success for Each Child and Eliminating the Opportunity Gap by Leading with Racial Equity. Inspects facilities and grounds (both interior and exterior) for the purpose of ensuring facilities are clean and safety needs are met. Maintains preventive maintenance program for the purpose of ensuring that item identified and repaired and/or replaced or a work order is issued. Performs minor building maintenance for the purpose of ensuring that items are available and in safe working condition. Prepares documentation for the purpose of providing written support and/or conveying information. Responds to emergency situations for the purpose of resolving immediate safety concerns and/or referring to appropriate parties for resolution. Serves as a backup for posting and sorting mail for the purpose of performing the functions of the mail person and providing coverage in their absence. Sets-up conference rooms for the purpose of ensuring the availability of needed arrangements and/or equipment. Transports various items for the purpose of ensuring the availability of materials required at job site. Utilizes fleet vehicles for the purpose of performing the essential functions of the position.
