**Job Title:** Registered Nurse **Job Specialty:** PCU **Job Duration:** 13 weeks **Shift:** Night 4x12-Hour (19:00 - 07:30) **Guaranteed Hours:** Not specified **Experience:** Minimum 2 years required, with float pool experience preferred **License:** MI license in hand at time of application **Certifications:** ACLS, BCLS, PALS, NIH Required; Conscious Sedation Preferred **Must-Have:** Epic charting experience preferred **Job Description:** - Mixed unit Med-Surg/Tele and Med-Surg - Small community hospital environment, ER MD available only at night - Patient Age Group: Adults, Geriatrics, Adolescent, Pediatrics (as young as less than one year old) - Staffing Ratios: 1:5 Days, 1:6 Nights and Weekends - Floating required within service line; float to other units within scope - Work every other weekend - Medication System: Pyxis - Patient Diagnoses: General Medical and Surgical Care, Post-operative care (orthopedic, pulmonary, and general surgical cases), preoperative care occasionally - Special Procedures/Unit Details: May include chest tubes and bedside procedures. Moderate sedation may be necessary. Includes IVs, Foleys, feeding tubes, IV pumps, PCA occasionally, fall alarms on beds. - Cardiac Monitoring and Emergency Response: Management of dysrhythmias, Telemetry - remote monitoring - Gastrointestinal: Feeding tube care and management - IV Therapy/Phlebotomy: Blood Product Administration, Central Line Care/Management, Monitoring Chemotherapy, Peripheral Line Care/Management, Starting IVs - Medications: Heparin Protocols - Neurological/Psychiatric: CVA - Orthopedics: Peripheral Nerve Block Catheters, Total Joint Replacements - Plastics: Surgical Drains - Respiratory/Thoracic: Chest Tubes-Emerson/Pleu-evac, High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC), Nasal Cannula, Non-Invasive Airway Management, Tracheostomy Management - Professional Topics and Skills: Isolation Precautions, Wound Care/Wound Vac - Special Equipment: SAO2 and End tidal CO2 - Charge Nurse Experience Preferred - Unit does not accept first-time travelers - Travel pairs are allowed to submit. If not related, candidates can work on the same unit. If related, they can be submitted to the same facility but not the same unit. - Modules are required during orientation and annually, and they vary by specialty. 4 hours of orientation are non-billable. **Other Requirements:** - COVID-19 and Flu Vaccines required, with Medical/Religious Exemptions only - Confirm prior to submission that the candidate will complete a basic Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam
