The Safety Manager is responsible for working alongside operations to build a strategic approach to assessing and mitigating safety hazards, including the effective productivity and quality of safety. This person must work seamlessly with the General Manager, Operations Directors, Finance, Human Resources, Retail/Merchandise, Food & Beverage, Safety, and Sales/Marketing Directors and Managers to ensure delivery of the highest levels of safety for employees and guests.

Requirements **Job Requirements**

- Serve as a company representative for areas on safety regulatory issues alongside

- The Safety Manager is responsible to assess potential hazards to our guests and employees and create work practices in conjunction with operations staff using the most effective hierarchy of controls to mitigate these hazards.

- In cooperation with Operations Team create, Job Hazard Assessment documentation and mitigation standards. Enhances employee and guest safety through all operational and support operational procedures.

- Manages and administers the Injury & Illness Prevention Program to ensure compliance with State OSHA programs.

- As needed, conducts and documents safety training for employees, supervisors and managers.

- Performs and documents site inspections, employee safety meetings, new hire safety orientations, job hazard analysis and monthly safety committee meetings.

- Assist with incident and injury prevention investigations. Oversee and attend OSHA inspections and review citations.

- Prepare safety reports for management outlining trends for motor vehicle accidents, near misses, first aid injuries, and medically treated injuries.

- Report occupational injuries to OSHA in compliance with the regulatory reporting standard.

- Food Safety Compliance with partnership of the Food and Beverage Manager

- Manage OSHA & DOT record keeping and reporting.

- Maintain Safety Data Sheets and ensure accessibility to these documents and training for employees. Ensures a general inventory list of chemicals is kept off site in the case of a fire

- Conduct and document internal onsite inspections to ensure safety and health requirements are maintained in accordance with State and federal regulations and company safety policies and programs.

- Evaluates all safety procedures and protocols, as well as make recommendations for improvement and risk reduction. Aid in maintaining and updating emergency responses procedures with conducting emergency response training exercises. Document all training attendees.

- Assist in supporting COVID safe work practices and COVID-19 Contact Tracing for the Santa Fe location, including contractors, employees, artist, and community members that interact with Meow Wolf

- Manage the on-site COVID Policy and Procedures with Leadership

- Manage inventory of Covid-19 PPE and coordinate distribution onsite as needed

- Assist through any emergency and first aid response needs with leadership and security team.

**Required Qualifications:**

- Minimum 5 years management in entertainment/hospitality/operations environment

- Proficiency in English, verbal and writing

- Excellent problem-solving and multitasking skills

- Solution-Oriented and not stopped by paper walls

- Previous experience in budget development and adherence

- Established history of creating safety policies, procedures, and protocols

- Proven safety management and enforcement

- Strong knowledge of OSHA and other agency regulations

- Strong understanding of workplace accident and injury reduction programs

- Demonstrated work experience as a Safety Coordinator or Safety Manager in Denver

- TAM certification

**Work Environment:**

This position works in a warehouse facility where loud noises, hammering, sound effects, and woodworking are present.Work area is adjacent to an indoor setting with exposure to noisy environments, dim lighting, strong visual effects

including strobing lights, special effects, fog machines and small and/or enclosed spaces.

Physical Demands:

The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 70 pounds. The employee needs to

be able to see in order to operate machinery and tools. The employee will comply with company and OSHA standard workplace safety protocols. Reasonable accommodations

may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

Work Schedule:

This is a full-time position, working a minimum of 40 hours a week. It requires a flexible schedule to accommodate times the exhibit is closed to the public. Occasional evening, overnight and weekend work are required as job duties demand.

**Supervisory Responsibility:**

This position does require supervisory responsibility.

**Travel:**

This position is based in Santa Fe, NM but may be required to travel to other company installation locations nearby and outside of the State as related to the job.
