SUMMARY:

The Software Quality Assurance (QA) Engineer position is required to maintain, analyze, design, program, debug, document, execute and modify complex test cases/scripts/programs related to all of applications and related systems.

The position expects an individual to work according to the practices set out in the Software Development and QA processes. It requires writing documents, scripts, programming test applications, configuring the test environment and performing various forms of testing. The QA activities also include completing documentation of the testing process and giving input to improve procedures.

The compensation for this role is set as $60k to $80k annually with an opportunity to earn a bonus based on company and performance standards.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Analyzes systems to determine optimal testing strategy
  • Writes and maintain documents and codes/programs to define and execute test cases
  • Designs, creates, executes and maintains test harnesses
  • Executes test cases
  • Performs automated and manual quality assurance against the products and systems
  • Provides defect reports to Software and Systems teams as appropriate
  • Designs and implements QA test schedules and test matrices
  • Configures and maintains the software and hardware environments used for testing
  • Performs other related duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's degree (B.S.) in Computer Science or equivalent related experience
  • 3+ years' experience as a QA Engineer
  • 5+ years' experience with Windows based applications
  • 2+ years' experience using testing tools
  • 2+ years' experience using with C/C++,C# and ASP.NET
  • 1+ years' experience using SQL Server
  • Clear understanding of web technologies such as HTML, DHTML, JavaScript, XML, SOAP and Web Services and HTTP
  • Documentation experience with functional, load and stress testing
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Must work well independently and as a team player
  • Experience within the pari-mutuel industry a plus
  • Experience with Point of Sale terminals and/or real time transactional systems a plus.
