Job Description:

You will play an integral role in the data aggregation and analyses used to support assessment of investment performance across all investment groups. As a key member of the Investment Performance team and broader AM FFO function, you will have the opportunity to gain substantial knowledge in the area of fund performance, how to measure it, analyze it and apply it to established compensation models that drive the investment compensation models for Investors across Fidelity Equity, Fidelity Fixed Income, QRI, FAMS and SAI Divisions.

Utilizing your analytical skills and intellectual curiosity, you'll develop your knowledge of fund performance measurements, the mutual fund industry, and fund accounting concepts. Successful efforts in this space will directly drive our internal clients' eagerness to incentivize extraordinary fund performance and drive the overall profitability of the firm.

The Role
  • Key contact to facilitate changes required for investment staff variable compensation and all related monthly and ad-hoc reporting. Critical functions include maintaining complete and accurate records and ensuring effective communication to all interested parties across Business Divisions, Finance, and HR. Typical focus will include: compensation methodology employed, bonus element weightings and appropriate peer groups/benchmarks. Success will require strong working relationships across the Investment Performance team with facilitation of clear and consistent communication amongst all group members.
  • Responsible for highly confidential monthly and quarterly performance reports and analyses used as key management tools for Investment Professionals to monitor Fidelity's competitive fund performance and applicability of the compensation model employed.
  • Work with the Investment Performance Project Manager and System Developers to help define business requirements for system improvements and to address defects. You will be involved in all aspects of UAT testing and post install verification of all improvements and bug fixes to ensure all expected functionality is fully realized.
  • Devise ad hoc performance analysis such as specific fund, index/peer group performance in response to requests from Senior Management, Group Leaders and Portfolio Managers to ensure model and metric applicability without unforeseen outcomes.
The Expertise and Skills You Bring
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or Economics preferred.
  • Work experience of 5-7 years in the financial service industry, preferably with a deep understanding of mutual fund, index and peer group metric calculations.
  • Significant attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Suite products
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize and meet deadlines
  • Ability to work independently with limited direction in a team environment.
  • Strong client service and interpersonal skills; ability to communicate with individuals at all levels in and outside the organization.

  • Deliver accurate and fully developed analysis and reporting to our clients. Help them feel confident and educated as to how their respective compensation models are driving desired performance and rewarding to the appropriate degree that desired performance.
