Accounting Specialist, Plant Operations

How this Role Will Be Impactful
The Accounting Specialist for Plant Operations will support the work of Farmer Focus Operations through completion of the following duties and responsibilities:
- Reconciles production between plant systems and locations
- Balances finished product and raw inventories daily
- Assists with weekly inventory counts, trailer reconciliations, and BOL documentation
- Reconciles sales and internal product transfers between plants and freezers
- Reconciles copack product receipts between shipping and procurement
- Assists with time reporting and labor efficiency reporting
- Enters daily production metrics and coordinates reporting to operations team
- Assists with supply inventory counts and recording adjustments in system
- Assists with general ledger account review for expense accuracy and assisting with month end close process.
- Works with accounts payable to support resolution of vendor issues
- Shall cross train to provide coverage to team members in other areas
- Works closely with Accounting, and Financial Planning & Analysis on projects, budgets and audits
- Performs related tasks as requested
- Two years (2) of clerical or accounting experience
- Proficient user of Microsoft Office suite
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving mentality
- Minimum Associates Degree in Accounting or related field of study
- Experience using Canopy or Business Intelligence software
Work Requirements and Environment & Reasonable Accommodations Statement
Work conducted primarily in an office environment. Work is in-person, on-site at our Harrisonburg, VA facilities. The position is required to regularly access areas of the plant production environment for inventory purposes.
Must be able to tolerate the varying heat, wet, and chill of the plant. Hearing and eye-protective equipment required in the production area. Required to wear hair and beard nets in the production area. Must be able to traverse a two-story staircase.
