SUMMARY

A Loan Fulfillment Exceptions Specialist I plays a critical role in the day-to-day functions of the Exception Review team. This role conducts a detailed review of loan packages to ensure compliance with bank policy as well as state and federal regulations.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum one year of experience in a Loan Operations/Loan Processing/Branch environment
  • Document Preparation or Document Review experience is preferred
  • Basic knowledge of Commercial and/or Retail loan documentation requirements, including collateral perfection
  • Basic knowledge of federal and state regulatory requirements
JOB FUNCTIONS
  • Performs routine and basic administrative tasks at the direction of team lead/coordinator or manager
  • Exercises sound judgment and discretion in the performance of duties in support of the Exception Review team
  • Perform detailed post-closing review of loan documents such as promissory notes, security agreements, deeds/mortgages for basic loan types, to ensure loan documents meet bank, regulatory and investor guidelines
  • Review supporting documents such as title work, appraisal, flood insurance, and environmental reports to ensure that lender has completed specified legal and regulatory due diligence
  • Cite document deficiency exceptions in Bank core system
  • Review trailing documents submitted by Account Officers to clear exceptions
  • Upload trailing documents to imaging system as needed
  • Perform basic due diligence searches, such as Secretary of State good standing
  • Assist Loan Officers with questions regarding exceptions, document requirements, and resolution of document-related issues
  • Meet performance standards of established production metric, quality standard of 98% accuracy and turnaround time of 4 weeks
  • Participate in all required compliance training, as well as internal and external training programs, online training, meetings, or other education events as assigned by Loan Ops and Bank leadership
  • Adhere to Corporate and Loan Operations policies and procedures as prescribed
  • Exemplify behaviors in alignment with the bank's vision, mission, and culture; exhibit professionalism at all times
  • Provide world-class service to internal and external clients with a sense of urgency and positive attitude
REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills are required

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • Demonstrate exceptional organization and time management skills and the ability to balance competing priorities to meet multiple deadlines
  • Ability to think critically and problem solve with guidance
