We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Construction/Environmental Project Manager familiar with project planning, pre-development, environmental assessments/compliance/approvals, team coordination, and execution of development for vacant commercial properties, land parcels and capital improvement for land disposition, new build, and preservation.

Responsibilities:

  • Managing environmental consultants, securing environmental approvals, oversight of all tasks related to environmental reviews (Phase 1 & II ESAs), brownfield assessments, mitigating conditions, sustainability, asbestos, lead base paint, mold, grant applications, remediation, stormwater inspections, and other environmental activities as identified.
  • Oversight and/or assistance with preparation of technical compliance documents required by local, state, federal, and HUD environmental regulations.
  • Management of projects from Initiation through closing (financial & Occupancy)
  • Management of project schedules including project scope, milestones, tasks, durations, dependencies, cost, resource assignment & allocations, accountabilities, and reporting.
  • Collaboration, coordination, and management of internal cross functional tasks as well as oversight and management of tasks assigned to external agencies.
  • Strict adherence to meeting deliverable schedules, goals/deadlines, budgets, regulatory/compliance requirements, and quality of work standard.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in construction management, Civil or Geological engineering, Environmental Science, or related area required.
  • Related work experience of at least 5-10 years
  • Prior experience or training regarding environmental compliance and related federal and state environmental regulations desirable.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong computer skills required. Must have a demonstrated strength and proficiency in Microsoft applications such as MS Project, MS Excel, MS Word, SharePoint Online, etc. and the ability to learn other software applications.
  • PMP Certification a plus

Knowledge/Understanding/Experience

  • Environmental Assessments, securing environmental approvals, grant applications, program/project Management.
  • Initial site characterizations through remediation and data collection activities/oversight
  • Financing strategies including tax credits, tax exempt bonds, local grants, HUD programs and conventional debt/equity practices and impact.
  • Development strategies include multifamily, attainable/workforce, affordable (rent restrict) housing, public-private partnerships, mixed-used and mixed-income development.
