Responsibilities:
Patient Care: Provide comprehensive nursing care to critically ill patients in the SICU, including assessment, monitoring, medication administration, and advanced life support.
Surgical Expertise: Utilize your knowledge of surgical procedures and post-operative care to manage patients with complex needs.
Collaboration: Work collaboratively with surgeons, intensivists, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.
Critical Thinking: Assess complex patient conditions, anticipate potential complications, and initiate appropriate interventions.
Technology: Operate and maintain advanced medical equipment and technology, such as ventilators, hemodynamic monitoring systems, and IV pumps.
Patient and Family Education: Educate patients and their families about their conditions, surgical procedures, and recovery expectations.
Documentation: Maintain accurate and detailed records of patient care and surgical procedures.
Floating: Be prepared to float to other critical care units as needed, demonstrating adaptability and a willingness to learn new skills.
Schedule:
Full-time: 36 hours per week.
Shift: Night shift (6:45 AM, 7:15 AM).
Call: Required
Qualifications:
Required:
Graduation from an accredited nursing program.
Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Ohio.
BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification.
TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) or TCAR (Trauma Care After Resuscitation) certification.
NIH Stroke Scale certification.
Minimum of 2 years of ICU or critical care experience.
Preferred:
Experience in a Level I Trauma Center or similar high-acuity setting.
Proficiency in Epic charting system.

Patient Diagnoses: Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm Repair, Carotid endarterectomy, Distal Bypass, Sepsis, Trauma, Bowel Perforation, Arterial Thrombosis, Pulmonary Embolism, Free flap for oral/facial/pharyngeal reconstruction
Special Equipment: Nx-Stage CRRT, Belmont rapid infuser, Hotline fluid warmer, Arctic Sun for targeted temperature management, EKOS.
Scrub Color: To be determined by the facility.
