Tax Accountant

Key Responsibilities:

Record entries from point of sale systems

Record weekly payroll and tie out weekly payroll clearings

Reconcile bank / credit cards / loan accounts

Accounts Payable including recording of vendor invoices, debit memos and check payments

Accounts Receivable including recording of customer invoices, credit memos, refunds and payments

Utilize bank feed and download features and mapping/coding of accounts

Generate weekly/monthly profit and loss reports and comparative reports for identifying irregularities

Payroll Taxes and Sales Tax preparation functions

+ Tie down payable / Prepaid and accrual entries on monthly close outs

Required Qualifications:

+ Bachelors degree in accounting and knowledge of accounting principles

+ CPA preferred

+ Minimum of 5 years accounting experience

+ Public accounting experience preferred

+ Excellent computer skills, especially Microsoft Excel

+ Knowledge of US GAAP (Specifically ASC 606)

Strong skills in the following key areas:

+ Project prioritization and management

+ Time management and ability to meet accounting close deadlines

+ Effective oral and written communication

+ Interpersonal skills

+ Analytical and problem-solving skills

+ Ability to exercise discretion and judgment
