Summary

Employee in this position is responsible for providing the care, cleaning and overall general maintenance to the county buildings.

Working hours are 3:30 pm - midnight. Position is open until filled.
Job Duties

  • Buff floors, including laying a thin wax coat, course buff and shine, removing old wax, removing scuff and other marks, mop (both wet and dry).
  • Use of light/heavy machinery and/or equipment.
  • Vacuum halls, floors, offices, move furniture, clean walls and lights, replace burned out bulbs.
  • Empty trash cans, replace liners, polish furniture, clean windows, and other related duties.
  • Clean restrooms and other specified areas, make minor repairs.
  • Use of hazardous chemicals.
  • Securing doors and windows.
  • Perform other tasks as directed
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Valid Washington Drivers License.
  • Lifting of heavy equipment, furniture or supplies.
  • Familiarity with tools, instruments, equipment and techniques commonly used in the performance of related tasks.
  • Maintain a high standard for accuracy, completeness and efficiency in the preparation of reports.
  • Ability to quickly grasp new techniques, deal with rapid changes in events, remain calm, professional manner.
  • Effectively communicate with others for purposes of gathering and relating information.
  • Understand the need for maintaining confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Independent and self-motivated to complete required deadlines while simultaneously completing other tasks.
  • Familiarity with custodial and maintenance practices and use of chemicals in floor and carpet care and disinfectant bathrooms.
Education, Experience & Certifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent and as otherwise indicated.
  • Prior experience in building maintenance preferred.
  • Ability to successfully complete various training classes and obtain certificates necessary for functional skills performance, maintenance and improvement.
  • Ability to successfully complete a background security check
