Business Analyst

Job Summary: EMCOR Business Services has an immediate need for a Business Analyst. The position is a hybrid located in Alexandria, VA

The Business Analyst will be responsible for multiple project types including application implementation and upgrades as well as definition and documentation of processes and best practice. The candidate will guide application testing and validation through the software development lifecycle process, from gathering business stakeholder requirements, working with the PMO team and system analysts in refining the requirements and overseeing testing and deployment to production. They will work with the business stakeholders to identify process gaps and improvements. They will also work with the team to provide end user support on the usage of our custom applications and serve as a subject matter expert on the applications.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

Serve as a subject matter expert for questions and troubleshoot end user issues. Gather requirements and help build and document specifications for development in a design document. Conduct gap analysis between application and stated customer requirements. Work with stakeholders in all business units to formulate scope and objectives for new initiatives. Identify and document best practices and processes regarding our custom systems. Design and implement data maintenance and clean up processes. Develop and maintain understanding of customer workflows and business needs to support. Work with clients to demonstrate the changes to the system to ensure all relevant business needs are addressed. Attend meetings and regularly communicate with team members and business stakeholders.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in a Computer or Business associated discipline, or equivalent business or technical experience. 1-5 years of custom application end user support and working with stakeholders on system/configuration changes. Proven track record Experience in using Microsoft tools (Office, Project, Visio, etc.) required. Experience translating User Requirements to functional specifications required. Experience with process review and definition Experience with a variety of business software applications required Experience with Microsoft Visual Studio and version control repositories (such as Grit) preferred

Physical Demands:

Ability to work in an office environment using laptop, cell phone, and office phones. Must be able to work with EST business hours regardless of physical location.

Work Environment

Will interact frequently with members of IT development, QA, BA teams, and various business stakeholders.
