Project Manager - Industrial Construction Stevens Engineers & Constructors has an excellent opportunity for an experienced and highly motivated Project Manager to join our Hobart Operations Team. The ideal candidate will have project management experience in industrial construction markets. The Project Manager position is responsible for providing oversight for all phases of industrial construction projects, including coordinating employees, subcontractors, materials, equipment, while ensuring that specifications are being followed and work is performed within quality standards as well as on schedule and within budget. The ideal candidate will also have a client?focused approach and will work well independently and as part of the project team. Key Responsibilities Provide leadership and establish and maintain effective, harmonious working relationships with all involved in the project. Organize and execute the project safety compliance program within company policy guidelines; initiate safety meetings for on?site supervisors and labor force. Interface with the client as primary contact, receive and communicate initial project setup information and periodic status updates, write significant correspondence, and represent the company in meetings. Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of all contract documents, including plans, specifications, owners contracts, subcontracts, and purchase orders. Develop or analyze preliminary project documentation such as project code of accounts, subcontracts, and purchase orders. Organize and plan the execution of physical work. Develop the project schedule and direct its long?term planning and execution. Communicate and coordinate schedule and plan with subcontractors and vendors. Identify on?site activities that may impede progress or jeopardize compliance; prepare and submit related documents to the client or responsible parties and implement corrective measures. Maintain strict control of the project budget for each work activity; report monthly on progress and current profitability. Write subcontracts and purchase orders for field?generated purchases and contracts; review and approve related invoices and change requests. Prepare, quote and negotiate contract changes with guidance from the General Manager. Maintain open communication with all support and business units involved with the project. Maintain open lines of communication with local union officials. Promote goodwill with clients, architects, engineers, etc., to facilitate construction activities and future repeat business. Supervise the project activities of the on?site project engineer, field superintendents, office manager, and clerk. Participate in bidding, pre?construction services, budgeting, and continuous improvement programs. Skill Factors & Qualifications Bachelors Degree in Construction Science, Building Science, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field (preferred). Ten (10) years of professional experience in the construction industry, including five (5) years of managerial experience. Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently. Able to manage a team of employees and multiple projects. Experienced at compiling and following strict budgets. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Accurate and precise attention to detail. Goal?oriented and organized leadership. Analytical problem?solving and strategic thinking. In?depth understanding of the construction industry. Organized and able to create multiple timelines, budgets, and schedules. Knowledge of local, state, and federal building code regulations. Ability to build solid relationships with team members, vendors, and customers. Proficient with Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, and construction/project management software.
