Position Summary

We are looking for a candidate who is self-motivated, adaptable, energetic, and a quick learner to join our team. You will play an essential HR role ensuring the smooth execution of HR processes and initiatives. We seek a best practices individual who will uphold company values and be fully committed to supporting our team members and the business. The ideal candidate will have the capacity to manage multiple priorities such as talent acquisition, performance, employee relations, and working on other key HR projects.

This position will work on-site at our Corvalis, OR facility.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop strong and trusted relationships with business leaders, people managers and employees, and provide guidance on all organization and people matters.
  • Drive employee engagement activities by working closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention.
  • Understand, clarify, and recommend HR policies and procedures to support the employee experience and meet compliance requirements. Assist in development and implementation of HR policies and procedures.
  • Act as point of contact for employees on HR-related inquiries and ensures employee questions and concerns are answered and/or properly addressed in a timely manner.
  • Address employee relation issues, including supporting and coaching leaders through the performance management process and escalating when necessary.
  • Actively promote professional development, well-being, and other benefits offering opportunities for employees
  • Work closely with the Corporate Talent Acquisition Manager to support recruitment initiatives and participate in recruiting efforts including working with managers to identify staffing needs, completing requisitions for open positions, post jobs, screen resumes, maintain resume tracking database, scheduling candidate interviews and discuss offers with hiring managers.
  • Ensure all pre-employment procedures and screenings are completed for new hires and coordinate onboarding of employees including conducting new hire orientation presentations.
  • Manage the performance review process and coach.
  • Assist managers in developing/revising job descriptions and work with Corporate HR to create career ladders.
  • Coordinate all offboarding efforts including conducting exit meetings.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate records, files and reports, including responsibility for maintaining personnel records. Track employee data through entire employee lifecycle in applicable systems.
  • Assist with the administration and communication of employee benefits programs to include employee enrollments and changes, annual renewal and evaluating plans, open enrollment, and addressing employee questions.
  • Plan and execute employee activities and events including employee meetings, social and wellness events and activities, company lunches, and other corporate events.
  • Coordinate the completion and submission of Workers Compensation claims and assist employees in obtaining any necessary treatment, completing documents, and addressing questions.
  • Process verifications of employment and work with payroll to process payroll-related items, such as garnishments, disability, and unemployment.
  • Collect data for compliance reporting and work closely with Corporate HR on meeting required reporting needs.
  • Implement, execute, and maintain Tuition Reimbursement program.
  • Partner with Corporate HR team to identify training needs and develop and deliver training to managers and employees.
  • Provide support to team members for leave of absence questions. Overall understanding and ability to track FMLA, State and company leaves.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all HR matters, use appropriate discretion, and adhere to HIPAA standards.
  • Stay current with state/federal regulations and apply appropriate changes to HR processes/procedures.
  • Makes suggestions to management for improving work processes.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
  • 3 years' experience in a HR Generalist role, with involvement in a variety of HR areas including recruiting, onboarding, compliance, leaves, employee relations, and offboarding.
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • Proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel & PowerPoint) and familiar with HRIS systems.
  • General knowledge of employment law and compliance.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, capable of working well with different personalities.
  • Ability to communicate clearly, persuasively and professionally, both orally and in written form.
  • Proactive, detail-oriented individual with strong organizational skills.
  • Thoughtful, approachable, and self-aware and comfortable navigating difficult conversations with a keen ability to pick up on nonverbal cues.
  • Proven experience handling complex personnel matters and ability to handle confidential information with discretion and maintain a high level of professionalism.
  • Ability to work independently and effectively manage projects and multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Comfortability in reviewing, analyzing, and auditing data.
  • Demonstrated ability to make recommendations to effective resolve problems or issues, by using judgment that is in consistent with standards, practices, policies, procedures, regulation or government law.
  • Familiarity with payroll processing systems and a basic understanding of payroll regulations.
  • Ability to use a keyboard and mouse for computer data entry and/or analysis and presenting data.
