For the Piping Department of its office in Bangalore, Desmet Engineering Center Pvt. Ltd is looking for: Criteria

Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering with minimum 5 years of experience in pipe as well as duct stress analysis in the design of industrial plants. Must have hands on experience in CAESAR II software for handling detailed engineering job. Must have hands on experience in Pipe Support Engineering – preparing support standards, special support details. Strong experience in routing the Indoor and outdoor piping as well as ducting in a chemical / process plant. Good knowledge of standard specifications and codes for piping (e.g. ASME B31.1/ B31.3, EN-13480, PED etc.) and of technical specifications for piping, fittings, accessories (e.g. valves, instrumentation) and assemblies. Proactive with excellent problem-solving skills. Sufficient expertise to work with little supervision. Experience in EPC companies will be an added advantage. Working knowledge of MS office will be an added advantage. Site experience in plant erection is an asset. Fluent in English. Additional languages are an asset. Eager to learn Desmet processes and applications. Job Description

Reports to the Team Leader. Capable of doing the pipe / duct routing independently with minimum instructions once the necessary information (P&IDs, Layout, Foundation, Steel, Equipment Orientation drawings) is made available. Assumes/drafts piping / duct routings for each process section considering all aspects of good engineering practices. Good experience in developing plot plan, equipment layout, piping layout & piping isometric. Knowledge of Pipe supports, Vendor drawing review, nozzle orientation check, bill of material. Should be ready to take part in site survey as need arises. Completes accordingly and accurately the piping drawings & can find out the bill of material (quantities of pipes, fittings, accessories, etc. ) that is required to complete the piping at site. Communicates internally in case clarifications are required to complete the piping drawings as per schedule.
