As our Senior Director, Major Gifts, you'll be at the forefront of our mission, developing vital connections within the community to support our initiatives through United Way Miami. Here's what you'll be doing:
Developing and nurturing relationships with individuals who have the capacity to make significant contributions of $100,000 or more. Managing a portfolio of approximately 100-125 prospective and current donors, guiding them through the giving process with care and expertise. Participating in exciting donor meetings, sharing the incredible impact of our work, and inspiring generosity. Collaborating closely with our Development Officers to identify and cultivate major and planned gift prospects, ensuring a unified approach to fundraising success.
And what do you need to bring to the table?
A Bachelor’s degree, a Master’s degree or equivalent experience to demonstrate your commitment to excellence. 5 years of experience in individual fundraising, with a proven track record of securing major gifts, especially in education or human services. Stellar speaking skills to captivate audiences and convey our mission with passion and clarity. The ability to connect with people from all walks of life, adapting to various situations with ease and grace. Strong computer skills, basic math proficiency, and negotiation skills to excel in the fast-paced world of fundraising. An understanding of industry trends and the drive to continuously learn and grow in your role.
Spanish fluency is a plus, but not a requirement – we welcome candidates from diverse backgrounds and experiences
