Vessel Operations: Promote and maintain standardized deck operational efficiencies. Provide cargo-related technical expertise and guidance. Develop and maintain fleet standards to maximize cargo loading. Ensure safe and efficient vessel operations. Guide Technical Superintendents and Vessel Captains. Provide technical expertise for new cargo opportunities. Vessel support: Oversee maintenance and repairs for deck and navigational equipment. Ensure safe and efficient operation of deck and navigation functions. Manage work of shore side contractors. Coordinate with Technical Services, Sales & Traffic, Crewing Manager, Logistics, and Purchasing departments. Handle requisitions and participate in Marine Emergency Response. Quality, Health, Safety, Environment & Regulatory: Ensure compliance with vessel inspection and certification requirements. Liaise with external regulatory authorities. Review Shipboard Safety Management Committee meeting minutes. Implement QHSE programs and perform internal audits. Investigate occurrences, accidents, or incidents. Stay current with applicable legislation and standards. Promote QHSE culture through visible presence on site and vessel visits. Skills, Abilities, and Experience: University education in Maritime Studies, preference for Nautical Science. Minimum Chief Mate certificate of competency, Master Mariner preferred. 7+ years of combined shipboard and shore experience. Self-Unloading vessel experience is a plus Proficient in Microsoft Office. Ability to build effective working relationships. Knowledge of ISM/ISO and regulatory disciplines. Valid passport and driver’s license with no travel restrictions.
