We are currently seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team in Lewisville, TX. Below is the job description, please apply now if interested.
  • Prepare layout drawings for the assembling and manufacturing of the company's products.
  • Will be utilizing Solidworks for Sheet Metal Design for Machined Parts/Manufacturable Parts.
  • Use computer assisted design/drafting equipment and software to develop and maintain designs.
  • Create and revise production drawings (detail and assembly drawings).
  • Makes final sketch of proposed drawing, checking dimension of parts, materials to be used, relation of one part to another, and relation of various parts to whole structure or project.
  • Sketches rough layout of machine and computes angles, weights, surface areas, dimensions, radii, clearances, tolerances, leverages, and location of holes.
  • Utilizes knowledge of various machines, engineering practices, mathematics, building materials, and other physical sciences to complete drawings.
  • Drafts detailed multi-view drawings of products, sub-assemblies, parts, and other equipment/materials.
  • Draws finished designs from sketches and/or from direction of engineering staff.
  • Collaborates with Engineers to determine manufacturing tolerances, product design specifications, and other technical requirements.
  • Evaluates own work for completeness, accuracy, meeting standards, and requirements.
  • Updates Drafting and Engineering Standards.
  • Assists with maintaining an organized engineering file system for Production Drawings and Engineering Documentation.
  • Provide focus and assistance to the engineering staff by data entry, collection and coordination of processes.
  • Communicates with Operations, QA, and Engineering regarding new and revised prints.
  • Makes copies of drawings and maintains information regarding changes to company and process database.
  • Collaborates with Mechanical Engineer to determine manufacturing tolerances and specifications.
  • Supports Engineering department by completing other engineering documentation processes.
  • Prepares orthographic and isometric drawings for use in catalog illustrations and other marketing literature.
  • Performs other drafting tasks as assigned by the Product Design Engineer.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
