Let Nesco Resource help you with this next step in your career search.Job title: CNC Lathe ProgrammerLocation: Sandusky, OHShift: 1st (6 am to 1:30 pm or 7 am to 3:30 pm Monday through Friday with an occasional Saturday)Salary: $20 to $27 an hour based on experienceDescription:Program, Set up, operate and tend lathe and turning machines to turn, bore, thread, form, or face metal or plastic materials, such as wire, rod, or bar stock.Duties: PROGAM from scratch at machine Performs all assigned machine shop operations Reviews set up sheets and specifications to determine program sequence, sets up operation and dimensions of finished work piece. Inserts cutting tools/tool holders and positions tools on turret. Detects and reports defective materials or questionable conditions to management or designee Follows tag system, quality procedures and completes all relevant in-process inspection forms Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean, orderly condition and follows prescribed Ensure all gages used are calibrated and in good working order Performs inspection of machined products, and documents results Perform general maintenance on machine such as changing coolant, oils and other lubricants Performs other related duties as assigned. Skills/Qualifications: Previous experience in machining steel Mechanical aptitude Familiarity using micrometers and calipers Ability to read and understand blueprints Willing to learn to become proficient in operating applicable equipment Quality and detail oriented Excellent mathematical skills to include decimals and fractions Lift up to 50 lbs.
