Lead controls development through design, layout, testing, and evaluation of electrical and control systems. Prepare electrical schematics and bill of materials for the fabrication and assembly of equipment Interface with manufacturing and service to support product assembly, testing, and troubleshooting Collaborate with a cross functional team of software and mechanical engineers to develop innovative solutions Coordinate development efforts with suppliers and in-house personnel to minimize time-to-market while ensuring that New Product Development milestones are completed. Manage and continuously improve in-house testing procedures for electronic components for safety, reliability, and quality. Liaise with product lines to provide best electrical and control practices, as well as help troubleshooting to maintain best in class equipment category. Assist in code compliance activities for new and existing products including UL. Learn and embrace the ITW Business Culture to strengthen our unique ITW Competitive Edge. Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field 5+ years control circuit design for commercial or industrial equipment with hands-on development experience required. Experience with software programming languages; IEC 61131-3 programming languages and C# Deep knowledge of hardware, embedded firmware, and the ability to write specifications to align suppliers in support of new product development efforts. Capable of leading multiple projects simultaneously requiring supplier coordination, hands-on testing, and troubleshooting in the lab. Acts with a sense of urgency to create a strong result orientated culture Schematic design and wiring diagram experience is required in addition to familiarity with mechanical design practices and data acquisition software to support testing efforts. Knowledge of OSHA Requirements to include Electrical Safety, Machine Guarding, and Authorized Lockout/Tagout Procedures.
