GENERAL SUMMARY:

Under the direction of a testing coordinator or manager, the testing analyst participates in the overall test planning, preparation and execution of Clinical or Business applications and reports. The testing analyst must exhibit strong quality standards, attention to detail, knowledge of testing techniques, and clear vision of how to effectively test systems in a healthcare environment. The testing analyst continually promotes improvement in quality standards, procedures, policies, and best practices.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Contribute to the development of test strategy, approach and plans for all testing activities.
  • Develop, document and maintain test scripts based on requirements, designs, or workflow.
  • Coordinate test script creation and execution with cross functional teams. For example, DAP, IT and 3rd party applications, etc.
  • Partner with application teams to perform testing and document test results.
  • Track and report test progress and status according to the plan.
  • Track and manage defect resolution.
  • Performs Root Cause Analysis/Process Improvement for assigned testing initiatives.
  • Supports test automation initiatives.
  • Expands testing knowledge base and templates
  • Supports test coordinator and test Manager to establish test toolset and processes.
  • Promotes testing standards within the organization.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
  • Associates Degree / 2 years of college required Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • One (1) year of experience in one of the following:
Technical experience:
  • Knowledge of state-of-the art engineering approaches in software testing, debugging problems, and ongoing technical support.
  • Able to articulate previous examples of workflows and processes associated with previous IT experience.
AND/OR
  • Clinical experience includes:
    • Knowledge/experience in clinical workflows and processes. Able to articulate previous examples of workflows and processes associated with clinical experience integrated with IT solutions.
AND/OR
  • Revenue experience includes:
    • Specific knowledge of one or more of the following: bed management, registration, scheduling, revenue cycle reports, professional billing, hospital billing, medical records or coding. Additionally must be able to articulate revenue cycle workflows and processes for one or more of the above areas with a focus on IT integrated solutions.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple concurrent projects.
  • Ability to clearly communicate status and work plan.
  • Ability to set priorities, produce accurate work, and meet deadlines; ability to function in a setting with a wide variety of duties and numerous interruptions.
  • Excellent written, verbal, analytical, and communication skills required.
  • Diligent, results-oriented work habits.
