**Terms of Employment**

* Contract, 6 36 Months (Possible Permanent Conversion)

* This position is 100% onsite in Portsmouth, New Hampshire.

**Overview**

The Lead Buyer, CAPEX manages the procurement activities for assigned investment projects and coordinates their planning and execution at multiple client sites. Day-to-day responsibilities include:

* 25%: Development of purchasing strategy and coordination of procurement activities for assigned investment projects, with strategic responsibilities for procurement volume of $40-$60 million.

* 25%: Procurement of supplies (systems, sub-systems, equipment, spare parts, etc.) and services (consulting, engineering, and planning) for the assigned specialist areas of investment projects.

* 20%: Strategic and operational procurement tasks, to include:

+ Definition and implementation of the procurement strategy, as well as targets / department / supplier, taking into account the market situation and classification of products

+ Bundling of procurement measures within the plant and in conjunction with other company sites

+ Preparation, conclusion, and maintenance of framework agreements

+ Development of action plans, relationship management with suppliers, evaluation of new suppliers and management of strategic key account activities

+ Optimization of LifeCycleCost (LCC) and reduction of material, transport, ancillary, and follow-up costs

* 20%: Coordinate, lead, and/or participate in projects to further the development and improvement of efficiency of technical purchasing, as well as to achieve common targets

* 10%: Participate as a member of the Technical Purchasing Management Team

**Required Skills & Experience**

* Experience in procurement of indirect goods/services and CAPEX assets (buildings, machinery, large equipment, vehicles, etc.)

* Strong experience participating in the development of purchasing strategies

* Strong experience negotiating with vendors/suppliers

* Strong experience placing purchases and monitoring the procurement process

* Experience working within ERP/procurement systems such as SAP, Ariba, or similar

**Preferred Skills & Experience**

* Pharmaceutical, drug manufacturing, or similar industry experience.
