As a data engineer at Booz Allen, you'll help build advanced technology solutions and implement data engineering activities on some of the most mission-driven projects in the industry. You'll deploy and develop pipelines and platforms that organize and make disparate data meaningful. Here, you'll work with and guide a multi-disciplinary team of analysts, data engineers, developers, and data consumers in a fast-paced, agile environment. You'll use your experience in analytical exploration and data examination while you manage the assessment, design, building, and maintenance of scalable platforms for your clients. The DoD space is looking for individuals with exceptional software development, data engineering, or data science backgrounds who have done outstanding work utilizing tools such as Spark, Python, Qlik, Tableau, and Maven, and web development frameworks such as React. In short, we are seeking a full stack data engineer who is passionate about building data applications from end to end, including data engineering back-ends to building interactive front-ends. You'll use a variety of different tools and frameworks to turn sets of disparate data points into meaningful answers to advise our clients as they make informed decisions. You Have: 3+ years of experience in software development, data science, or data engineering in a professional environment 3+ years of experience utilizing Python for data work, including leveraging standard libraries such as NumPy, pandas, matplotlib, or PySpark, in a professional environment 2+ years of experience designing, organizing, and building back-end data tables and databases in a professional environment 1+ years of experience building visualization front-ends in the form of analytics dashboards or interactive GUI applications such as web apps, in a professional environment Experience working with DoD platforms such as Advana and Palantir products Ability to break down complex problems into tractable programmatic pieces that can be effectively solved in an organized and efficient manner Secret clearance Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) field such as CS, Data Science, or Statistics Nice If You Have: Experience with distributed data and computing tools such as Spark, MapReduce, and Hadoop Experience working with cloud-based environments such as AWS Experience with Generative AI techniques, including LLMs Experience solving optimization problems from an operations research perspective such as linear or nonlinear programming and constraint programming Experience with parallel computing techniques such as multithreading and multiprocessing for producing highly efficient code Experience writing production-level code for maximal efficiency, speed, and reliability Experience working in a client-facing environment Experience working with high-ranking military personnel Clearance: Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; Secret clearance is required.
