Summary: Manages the process of distributing and evaluating the technical aspects of photon/proton treatment planning efforts and distributed dosimetry coordination for all Penn Medicine Radiation Oncology locations. Maintains training and expertise necessary to assign cases to dosimetry planners to assure even workload and high-quality planning for all locations. Works under direction of Director of Operations. Responsibilities: Manages daily distributed dosimetry activities in partnership with fellow Dosimetry Managers both at PCAM and at network locations at the capacity of up to 20 locations and 25 active planners. Distributed Dosimetry includes equitable planning and case assignments for the 30 plus new cases per day in consideration of planner resources/capacity/expertise. Supervises dosimetric efforts for all photon/proton service in partnership with fellow Dosimetry Managers at PCAM and network locations Reviews plans and provides feedback to dosimetrists when required Puts together monthly Distributed Dosimetry Coverage Report Keeps records of dosimetry competency and credentialing Assigns distributed dosimetry cases to distributed dosimetry pool Provides feedback and completes employee evaluations for direct reports Point of contact for Network Leaders for all questions and matters related to dosimetry treatment planning Participates in training of new photon/proton staff in the Network and, if needed, at PCAM and integrated sites, performs competency exams Updates existing staff on new techniques and system upgrades Holds ongoing staff meetings with direct reports and in partnership with fellow Dosimetry Managers, cadence to be determined by Dosimetry Management team Assists in submission documentation on protocol patients and work with clinical study team Manages PTO requests, call outs or sick leave requests etc. for Network Dosimetrists and partners with fellow Dosimetry Managers when needed, for the purpose of redistributing planning cases and clinical coverage in the capacity of distributed dosimetry Will be expected to travel to network locations and PCAM as needed Credentials: Medical Dosimetrist Cert Board (Required) Education or Equivalent Experience: Master of Arts or Science (Required) Education Specialization:Equivalent Experience:5 years We believe that the best care for our patients starts with the best care for our employees.
