Job Description:

Penn E&R is seeking a full-time Environmental Project Engineer/Manager at Penn E&R's Doylestown, PA office. The successful candidate will enjoy career growth and mentorship working with Penn E&R's licensed engineers, geologists, and LSRPs.

Responsibilities include:
  • Execute New Jersey Site Remediation Program (SRP) projects, and prepare regulatory plans including PA, SI, RI, CEA, RAWP, etc. per NJAC 7:26E.
  • Independently manage site investigation and remediation tasks, develop technical scopes of work and cost proposals, and other project management responsibilities based on experience.
  • Analyze environmental data, surveys, and other site related data with LSRP to develop environmental remediation strategies from investigation through design to construction.
  • Perform detailed analysis and modeling of data (soil, groundwater, vapor) and assist in cleanup strategies.
  • Prepare technical reports that explain research, findings, and recommendations to address environmental concerns and/or regulatory requirements.
  • Working with project team to implement conventional active groundwater/NAPL and soil vapor recovery, and sustainable in-situ bioremediation, chemical oxidation, and enhanced natural attenuation.
  • Mentor junior environmental staff, including preparation of data and graphics (tables, charts, CAD plans) for interpretation or presentation of findings.
  • Work with multi-discipline teams including geologists, scientists, surveyors and site remediation professionals.
  • Professional interaction with regulatory agencies, subcontractors, and clients.
  • Schedule and manage project tasks, subcontractors and personnel.
  • Depending on experience, support the development of remedial system design, including process calculations and construction drawings and specifications.
  • Conduct operations and maintenance of remedial systems.
  • Observe and document field construction / remediation activities.
  • Support business development activities including Brownfields, sustainable remediation and vapor mitigation designs, site civil engineering, renewable energy and other Penn E&R market/service projects, as needed.
Qualifications include:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil/Environmental Engineering or related field
  • Excellent technical writing skills and focus on quality
  • 5+ years working experience with NJ SRP regulations (PADEP Act 2 a plus)
  • Experience in conducting and managing field environmental investigations
  • Proficient task manager and ability to work independently
  • Strong sense of responsibility, problem-solving ability, analytical thinking and teamwork mindset
  • Working experience with AutoCAD
  • EIT and/or ability to obtain PE or LSRP license within 4 years is a plus
  • Groundwater modeling and design experience with wastewater, vapor mitigation, and/or soil/groundwater remediation systems is a plus.
