Logistics Lead Job Description Position Summary The Logistics Lead will work closely with the Logistics Manager to assist in managing the lot porting department at Swift Recon. This role requires strong leadership skills, attention to detail, and the ability to effectively assist a team of lot porting specialists. The Logistics Lead will not only execute lot porting activities but also take on additional responsibilities to support the department and act as a backup for the manager in their absence. Position Duties and Responsibilities Assist the Logistics Manager in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the logistics department, ensuring smooth workflow and adherence to established procedures and guidelines. Provide direct supervision to the logistics team under the guidance of the Logistics Manager, which includes assigning tasks, monitoring performance, and offering coaching and feedback to foster continuous improvement. Execute lot porting activities, including physical inspections, documentation, and processing, ensuring accuracy and compliance with industry regulations and company standards. Act as a backup for the Logistics Manager in their absence, assuming managerial responsibilities such as coordinating team activities, addressing escalated issues, and making decisions to ensure uninterrupted departmental operations. Collaborate with the logistics team and other departments, to facilitate seamless coordination and communication regarding lot porting activities. Assist in conducting regular quality control checks to ensure the accuracy and completeness of lot porting data, documentation, and processes, identifying and reporting any discrepancies or areas for improvement to direct manager. Assist in training new lot porters, ensuring they understand departmental procedures, safety protocols, and compliance requirements. Actively participate in process improvement initiatives, suggesting and implementing enhancements to increase efficiency and effectiveness in lot porting operations. Ability to voice departmental concerns and discuss vehicle inventory and client concerns to the appropriate department throughout the appropriate chain of command. Initiates smooth pick-up and delivery of vehicle back to client. Ensures drivers are practicing safe driving procedures and obeying traffic laws. Complies with company safety rules, guidelines and standards. Perform other duties as required to successfully meet the needs and goals of the logistics department and Swift Recon. Educational High school diploma or 1-year related experience and/or training Position Requirements Pass a criminal background check and drug screen. Must have a valid driver's license. Under the state of Oklahoma's Unity Bill, this position is classified as a "Safety Sensitive Position" due to the job requirement of driving a vehicle. Strong communication skills written and oral that allowed you to communicate effectively with your team. Read and understand instructions. Multitasking, adapts easily to fast-paced environment. Personable, friendly demeanor with team members Maintain a professional appearance. Physical Requirements / Working Conditions The position is based in a normal shop environment. Daily activity as well as repetitive tasks involving hand and arm motion and lifting objects over 50 pounds. Must be able to push/pull parts, carts, and cars with assistance. Working environment consists of: Exposure to fumes, chemicals, dust, along with elevated levels of noise. Must have manual dexterity to operate equipment. Subject to climate changes both inside and outside the facility. Must have visual acuity to determine the accuracy and thoroughness of the work assigned.
