MGB-16643 - RN Cardiac ICU - Boston, MA - 13 Weeks Contract

Sigma Healthcare team is currently looking for RN/CCU to work in our client's facility.

Shift :36 hours, day/night rotating
Responsibilities of Critical Care Nursing:
  • Cardiac & Pulmonary Rehab - RN
  • Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehab are outpatient programs.
  • We provide education and exercise programs to cardiac and pulmonary patients, that meet insurance criteria, to help reduce the risk of future events and improve quality of life.
  • The program is a multidisciplinary program with RNs, RD, Exercise physiologists and PT.
  • Treating wounds and providing advanced life support
  • Assisting physicians in performing procedures
  • Observing and recording patient vital signs
  • Ensuring that ventilators, monitors and other types of medical equipment function properly
  • Administering intravenous fluids and medications
  • Ordering diagnostic tests
  • Collaborating with fellow members of the critical care team
  • Responding to life-saving situations, using nursing standards and protocols for treatment
  • Acting as patient advocate
  • Providing education and support to patient families
  • Critical care nurses may also care for pre- and post-operative patients.
  • In addition, some serve as case managers and policy makers, while others perform administrative duties.
Skills Required:
  • Telemetry, ACLS, computer (word, ppt, excel).
  • Active MA RN License
  • NCC Cardiac Vascular Nursing Certification preferred.
Years of Experience:
  • Minimum: Two years of medical/surgical nursing experience, two years of recent cardiac intensive nursing care experience required (Other intensive nursing experience considered) and cardiac risk factor intervention and in exercise prescription and intervention
  • Travel and level 1 experience preferred
