Responsbilities

  • Monitor the productivity of staff and the work plan on every engagement
  • Identify areas for which control and inherent risk assessments may be lowered
  • Understand how changes in the economy, industry, and business processes affect the planning process
  • Gather appropriate evidence using advanced analytical reviews
  • Identify situations when deviation from or addition to planned procedures is appropriate
  • Plan engagements based on Risk Assessments
  • Document internal controls on a timely basis
  • Test systems of internal control appropriately based on risk assessment (i.e., walkthrough vs. test of control)
  • Perform an effective engagement administration review
  • Complete engagements so that the 'lights-out' approach may be used
  • Recognize and document appropriate matters for Partner attention
  • Assist with financial reporting and ensure accuracy and compliance with relevant standards
  • Participate in industry-related meetings or seminars
  • Learn and appropriately use industry-specific terminology
  • Function without close supervision
  • Ask for assignments that will support specialty development
  • Participate in debriefing sessions
Requirements:
  • Associate degree in Business
  • 3+ years of experience performing governmental audits
  • CPA a plus
  • Must possess above average computer skills, knowledge of Microsoft Office programs
  • Must be able to communicate clearly both verbally and in written format. A strong command of the English language and grammar is necessary
  • Must be available to work professional hours between 9am and 5pm, and additional hours as needed
  • Must be willing to travel for on-site client meetings and engagements
