Reviews for accuracy and prepares monthly and end of year journal entries and financial reports
Makes recommendations from the analysis of accounts for account reconciliations and revenue reporting
Assists in devising and implementing the general accounting system and procedures
Monitors and maintains up-to-date financial reports for fund accounts, bank accounts, general ledger accounts, bond fund accounts, revenue accounts, and expense accounts
Assists the County Auditor, Assistant County Auditor and Accounting Manager as needed by providing information, reports and records as requested
Assists with the maintenance of the charts of accounts in the financial system
Prepares county-wide reconciliation journal entries, including journals for internal transfers between county accounts, and enters journal entries into the accounting system
Posts daily financial data from all areas and ensures daily entries balance in the financial system
Balances department source financial data to financial reports for verification of financial data and proper reporting in the general ledger and financial reporting systems
Audits the Treasurer’s Office financial and payroll transactions ensuring that account transactions balance and are recorded accurately
Assists with the preparation of the county-wide Annual Comprehensive Financial Report, ensuring that financial statements are in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles and Governmental Accounting Standards
Takes a countywide perspective in the development of new or the modification of existing financial policies and procedures
Recommends appropriate accounting revisions to the County Auditor, Assistant County Auditor and Accounting Manager
Communicates all financial changes to County Auditor, Assistant County Auditor and/or Accounting Manager, and elected officials, department heads and employees as necessary
Responds to telephone inquiries from individuals with questions about revenue reporting and general ledger accounts
Assures the services delivered meet quality and timeliness standards
