Overview:

Our client is seeking a highly skilled Civil Engineer with a focus on land development and/or site development projects. In this role, the selected candidate will apply engineering principles to design infrastructure for commercial land development projects. Additionally, they will actively engage with professional associations and community organizations, contributing to our client's commitment to building strong community partnerships.

Responsibilities:

On a day-to-day basis, the Civil Engineer will:

Assist Project Manager, Senior Project Manager, or Vice President in the production of project plans, specifications, and cost estimates.

Develop feasible design alternatives and compare key parameters, such as typical sections, horizontal and vertical alignments, right-of-way requirements, and costs.

Identify and analyze the principal design features and major design alternatives that align with the project's purpose and need.

Utilize computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment to prepare engineering and design documents.

Prepare written technical reports and engineering studies following the approved company format.

Provide guidance and direction to engineering technicians involved in production work. By taking a leadership role in these daily activities, the Civil Engineer will contribute to our client's vision of becoming the most respected engineering firm in Texas.

Qualifications:

To excel in this role, candidates should possess the following qualifications:

A Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering from an ABET accredited college or university.

A Professional Engineer (P.E.) designation in the state of Texas or the ability to obtain one within 6 months of the hire date.

8 years of prior experience in civil design, with a preference for experience in commercial development projects.

Familiarity with engineering principles, techniques, and procedures.

The ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues, clients, and public agencies.

Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and MS Office.

Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.

Reliability and dependability.
