Job Description

As a senior member of the corporate tax team, the Senior Manager will work closely with the Vice President of Tax on all U.S. federal and state tax related activities including the complex technical aspects of Accounting for Income taxes, Income Tax compliance, Tax Planning, and memo documentation. The Manager, Tax will report to the Senior Manager, Tax.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the accurate and timely preparation of accounting for income taxes under ASC 740.
  • Assist in the preparation of financial statement disclosures relating to income tax.
  • Calculate quarterly federal and state estimated income tax payments.
  • Lead process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and accuracy in the tax compliance process.
  • Maintain tax compliance calendar, ensuring timely completion and filing of all scheduled items.
  • Manage and review the accurate and timely filing of all federal and state income tax returns.
  • Manage federal income tax examinations and responses to various tax notices.
  • Regularly review tax news for pending and enacted law changes, update tax department and systems.
  • Review tax implications of new business, including joint ventures and due diligence for M&A.
  • Write memos supporting tax positions taken on financial statements and tax returns including VA & UTPs.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or economics.
  • MST, MBT required.
  • Active CPA required.
  • Minimum 10 years' experience in Tax within Public Accounting or Corporate Tax environment.
  • A mixture of Public Accounting and Corporate Tax is preferred.
Skills
  • Deep knowledge of ASC 740, Accounting for Income Taxes.
  • Deep knowledge of GAAP.
  • Demonstrate deep knowledge in online tax research.
  • Effective work style and achieving quality results in a dynamic environment.
  • Excellent organization and customer service skills.
  • Strong leadership and managerial skills.
  • Strong understanding of both federal and state income tax regulations.
  • Working knowledge of Oracle and OneSource Income Tax, a plus.
  • Overseeing the accounting for income taxes and corporate income tax filings.
  • Coordinating both the preparation and reviewing tax returns.
  • Coaching; managing and developing a team.
