About Your Role

Our team is looking to add an experienced dev team lead to its roster. This leader will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of a full stack development team. Your work to guide the team on output, design decisions, quality, and engagement will power features and functionality for some of the nation's largest logistics companies. We are interested in your ideas and innovation. If you've got experience at a startup or have an "I will figure this out" mindset, we encourage you to apply. We value leads that can motivate the team, embrace the culture, and drive for results.

What You'll Do

Leadership and Management Responsibilities

Team Leadership: Leading a team of developers, including hiring, training, and mentoring team members. This involves setting clear expectations, providing regular feedback, and fostering a collaborative team environment. Project Management: Overseeing the planning, execution, and delivery of software development projects. This includes task assignment, scheduling, and ensuring that projects are completed on time and within budget. Stakeholder Communication: Serving as a key point of contact for stakeholders, including product, management, and other departments. This involves communicating project status, negotiating requirements, and ensuring that the final product meets stakeholder needs.

Technical Responsibilities

Since you will be overseeing the code output of a full stack team the following list are technologies and skills that are beneficial to the success of the role. Full Stack Development: Proficiency in both front-end and back-end development. Familiarity with front-end technologies like HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and frameworks such as Angular, as well as back-end languages and frameworks like .NET, .NET core. Database Management: Experience with database technologies, including relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL), and the ability to design, query, and manage data effectively. DevOps and Cloud Services: Understanding of DevOps practices, including continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD), and experience with cloud services (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) for hosting and managing applications.

What You'll Bring

5 years minimum working in a B2B SaaS environment. 3 years minimum working with C#/.NET Core; experience with Angular is a bonus. Willingness to embrace a remote working environment and asynchronous, document driven communication. Advanced understanding of software development methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum). A desire to use data to drive your decisions. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. Autonomy and an ownership mindset – we'll help you, but we want you to help us too. Proficiency in English in both written and verbal communication skills. Willingness to use dark mode for everything, or you'll be subject to much ridicule. Strong Technical Skills: In addition to expertise in full-stack development, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to architect scalable and efficient software solutions. Leadership Qualities: Strong interpersonal and communication skills, the ability to motivate and lead a team, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Project Management Experience: Familiarity with project management tools (e.g., Jira, Trello) and methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum).

What We Value

We believe that the best software is software that is in use, in production. We optimize business value and impact. We believe that the best code is simple for humans to read. We work with a sense of urgency, think about how our application works, and advocate for improvements. Our core values are:

Empathy: work with our users and each other in mind Pragmatism: plan and work in iterations and design for change Ownership: ensuring we are delivering quality software to our customers

How You Work

You thrive in a fast-paced environment, where you prioritize quickly and leverage resources within the organization. You are intrinsically motivated to educate yourself on the latest industry trends and market research, positioning yourself as our customer's go-to person and subject matter expert. Occasional after-hours work may be required for support or to meet project deadlines. Maybe you work on a Mac, maybe a PC, maybe something else – we'll make sure you have the tools you need to work comfortably.

How We Work

We are consistently building, refining, and automating processes to aid our work; we encourage each team member to propose and adopt new technologies, frameworks, and processes that make us more effective as an organization. You are empowered to choose the environment that maximizes your happiness, engagement, and ability to reach our shared goals. Some of us work near or in corporate offices, but many of us work remotely full-time. While travel is minimal, a valid passport may be required if international travel is anticipated for your role. We provide comprehensive benefits such as Medical, Dental, Vision, 401k + match, Life & Disability Insurance to reward and support our employees. Medical insurance premiums are covered 100% for our employees. We offer 20 days of PTO and have a genuine, supportive culture around time-off. Our Core Hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 - 5:00 pm CST. We organize two in-person employee retreats a year to foster community, culture and reinforce our commitment to strong team dynamics and organizational alignment on our strategic initiatives.
