The Helper's primary responsibility is installing solar panels on residential homes to meet all company standards, quality, and performance while providing excellent customer service. The Helper works as part of a team and follows the instructions of the Solar Technician, Install Lead. The Helper must abide by all company safety regulations, be adaptable, a good communicator, and comfortable working with a team and with homeowners. They need to be familiar with standard photovoltaic rules and guidelines, know how to follow site plans and ensure a clean job site.ResponsibilitiesInstalls PV, battery and other associated systems according to engineering designs, permits and electrical codeFollows of all company safety guidelinesEnsures installation meets all company quality requirementsSubmit timely reports through Sunnova software showing project progress, quality and completionCollaborates closely with other team members to ensure an efficient installationUtilizes knowledge, skills, and testing equipment to commission systems and evaluate system issuesIdentifies solutions to resolve technical design problemsManages vehicle-material stock and equipment inventoryProvides training to customers about system operation and maintenanceMinimum RequirementsHigh School Diploma (or GED)0-1+ year experience as an electrical technician, solar installer, or solar maintenance technicianCurrent, valid Driver's license with acceptable Motor Vehicle RecordProficient in speaking, reading and writing EnglishElectrical trainingPreferred QualificationsOSHA 30 CertifiedFormal electrical apprenticeship and/or vocational training0-1 + years' labor experience in electrical trade, general construction, or mechanical experience0-1 + years in the Solar Electric IndustryBilingual, English and SpanishAdditional Knowledge, Skills and AbilitiesProficiency in Microsoft OfficeOrganized and maintains a professional appearanceStrong verbal and written communication skills.Reads and interprets blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagramsWorking ConditionsLocation varies depending on job siteEstimated 10% travel timeAble to work an adjusting schedule and respond to emergenciesDriving Required; Valid Driver's License and Motor Vehicle Report requiredPhysical RequirementsLong hours spent outside of residential rooftops, driving to customer residencies, some ground and rooftop workVarious weather conditions include cold and snowy, hot and humid, and everything in between; must be comfortable working in different environmentsAble to lift and carry up to 50 pounds; assistance may be provided for oversized itemsAble to sit, stand, walk, and drive for up to 8 hours at a timeBenefits-Sunnova offers a generous employee reward package that includes:Comprehensive benefits, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, healthcare flexible spending account, and 401(k) with employer match.Competitive compensation & annual bonusPaid time off, including 10 holidays and Paid Parental LeaveCell phone allowance for many rolesFree access to onsite fitness center in Houston and/or discounted fitness memberships through health provider$32.25 - $32.25 an hourAll qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, or national origin.We appreciate the capabilities of artificial intelligence (AI), and we are looking to hire real people.
